Our approach to teaching and learning

At Albury North Public School, we create a supportive place for every child to learn. Our programs help students build on their strengths. We provide extra challenges for gifted learners and support for those who need it. Through fun and hands-on learning, we build curiosity, confidence and important life skills.

Homework at our school

Homework helps reinforce classroom learning and encourages discussions at home. It is assigned by stage and focuses on reviewing key concepts.

Homework books

Your child will receive a homework book every Monday. It must be returned by Friday for marking and preparation for the next week.

Spelling activities

Stage-appropriate spelling activities are available on class pages. These align with the words your child is learning to spell in their daily writing.

Home reading (K-2)

Students in Kindergarten to Year 2 receive home reading books in a folder. Along with this is a diary for parents and carers to sign after reading together. Please return books every Friday so they can be updated. Students can read their home books in the reading lounge every morning except Wednesday.

Home reading is separate from library borrowing, which takes place on different days.
