Rich opportunities and activities

Albury North Public School we offer a variety of programs in the classroom and across the school to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.

Co-curricular programs

Learning that happens alongside and within the school day

Our co-curricular programs are closely connected to classroom learning, wellbeing and student leadership. These opportunities support students to build confidence, develop essential skills and apply their learning in meaningful ways during the school day.

Students may participate in:

·       Leadership and student voice programs (SRC, captains, buddies)

·       Curriculum-linked enrichment in literacy, numeracy, STEM and the arts

·       Cultural, inclusion and community programs such as NAIDOC Week and Harmony Week

·       Creative and performing arts experiences, exhibitions and school productions

·       Physical education, sport, swimming and inclusive movement programs

These experiences strengthen engagement, wellbeing and achievement for all students.and activities that help students grow, make new friends, explore their interests and build real-world skills. These experiences support learning beyond the classroom and help your child become a confident, creative, active and connected member of the school community.

Sport

We offer a range of sports to cater to every student's interests and abilities. As well as regular sports days, we hold a variety of sports events. Eligible students participate in zone, regional and state (NSW) Primary School Sports Association (PSSA) Pathway to compete.

Public speaking

Any student in Years 3-6 with an interest in public speaking can join this program. Students take part in the state-wide competitions and become confident active speakers.

Games room

Our Games room is available for students who want to play:

  • roleplaying games
  • card games
  • board games
  • strategy games.

When: Monday-Friday, 1:20 - 1:50 pm.

Student Representative Council (SRC)

Our school has an active Student Representative Council (SRC). Through the SRC, we have made many improvements to our school.

Our SRC is responsible for:

  • school assemblies
  • representative functions.
  • fundraising for community organisations.
